Sewing Scraps

Mug Rugs

Once you cut a piece of fabric you get a bunch of scraps ... and when you cut those scraps ... you end up with more scraps ... its is the sewer's dilemma ... what to do with all these baby pieces of fabric.
A mug rug is a mix between a coaster and a place mat - designed to hold your coffee mug or tea cup & maybe a little treat on the side.  Originally they came onto the scene as a fun excuse to use up fabric scraps to make an itty-bitty quilt.

  1. Mug rugs are great! They are fun projects with high utility. And fabric postcards are also a great deployer of scraps.
